♥ somewhere in between.

while i may work with the finest fabric and furniture that the interior design
industry has to offer, i often find that there is a bit of a difference between the
lifestyle in which i work and the lifestyle i actually go home to!

although i am a little too old for bean bag chairs and futons,
i am also not at a point in my life where i can start buying heirloom pieces
that i will be passing down to my grandchildren.

and while this transition phase of life feels a little bit uncertain,
and our apartment is a little bit of a mishmash of handed down pieces,
gorgeous textiles and loads of fantastic artwork (thank you, timothy!),
i want to dwell in unknowingness and the endless possibilities
that still lie ahead.

with that said, i feel compelled to share with you an adorable
stroke of interior design genius brought to you from my friend aaron.
since his status as an architectural student does not yet provide the funds
for a back bay brownstone, he got some painters tape and brought
the brownstone to himself.

i just love the way he employed trompe l'oeil to make his very own
fireplace above the electric outlet and his wall of art adds character and interest to
otherwise blank walls, proving that a sense of creativity and style
is something that money just can't buy.
